英國《金融時報》（Financial Times）為享譽全球性財經報紙，於上週發表頭版頭條 “Biden on the brink” 文章，用字遣詞精闢，值得一讀。

科普美國小知識：

1. 共和黨（Republican Party）支持強化聯邦政府權限的聯邦主義系統，而民主黨（Democratic Party）則繼承反聯邦主義系統。

2. 總統及副總統是透過選舉人團間接選出。先由各州國民選出總統選舉人，再由總統選舉人進行正式投票。得票數最多的人，可以獲得分配給該地區的所有總統選舉人票（538票），也就是所謂的「贏者全拿」（the winner-take-all system），除了緬因州（State of Maine）和內布拉斯加（Nebraska）按普選票得票比例分配選舉人票。

原文：Joe Biden was on the brink of winning the race for the White House last night after taking a lead over Donald Trump in Pennsylvania that put him on course to secure more than the 270 electoral college votes needed to win the US presidency.
